
Guest Blogger: Shama Bhagat
Shama Bhagat has over 28 years of work experience and she is one of the most experiences reporters in Bollywood.


She started her career as a sub-editor and reporter with Trade Guide from 1985 and worked there till 1988. Her work involved interviewing producers, directors and behind-the-scene coverage.
— She worked as a Sub-Editor and Reporter with Screen, an Indian Express Publication from 1988 to 1993. Where she did features and interviewed many film personalities. During that tenure she handled two columns independently titled TV & Audio Guide and Marathi Film Industry.
— Worked with a new publication called ‘Manas Times (an eveninger) in 1997 as a senior correspondent where she handled a section of the entertainment pages independently. The magazine has closed down now.
— Shama took a break from film journalism. During the period, she subtitled and translated various Hindi Films for BBC. She also subtitled and translated numerous films in Hindi, Marathi and Kannada into English for NFDC.
— Worked with Katha Interactive, a PR organization as a consultant wherein she interacted with the Electronic media as well as the print press.
— She joined Asian Age as a Special Film Correspondent from 2005 and worked there till 2011. Wrote features, as well as broke Bollywood news stories and interviewed stars.
* Shama is working as a freelancer now and she is available for independent projects.
