Star kids who flopped at the box office

The star kids of Bollywood who have not been able to make it big are all trying to make a comeback. Most of them have tried numerous times and have failed to make a mark. Some have tried twice, some thrice. But none could build a career of their own.

Thought most trade analysts portray that none of them will be able to make a difference, none of them agreed to come on record because they didn’t want to discourage the newcomers who are taking a second jab at life but they had one single opinion, “none of the star kids who are are trying for a second coming will be able to make a difference. They will all fade into oblivion and this will be the last time they will be seen on the big acreen.

So, who are the boys who are taking a second chance at their professional careers. Here is the list.

Luv Sinha :

Family Ties : He is the eldest son of Shatrughan Sinha and is the older brother of Sonakshi Sinka.

Debut film: Sadiyaan: Boundaries Divide… Love Unites was released in 2010.

Critics’ evaluation: Too wodden in expressions. Could not match up to the role. Biggest drawback is that he doesn’t get the right expressions on-screen .

Fate of Debut Film: Total washout. Film didn’t last till even the first day at most centres. By evening, theatres were mostly empty.

Quote: The negative of being a star kid part is lot of people dislike or hate you because of the perception that is created. They feel you (star kid) get everything easily on a platter but it is not the case for everyone. The positive part is to be part of this beautiful and magical world of films and entertain people. I met Umesh and liked the way he looks at things as a director, his thought process etc. Our sensibilities matched. It was the script that attracted me to do this film. I am playing the parallel lead in the film.

Harman Baweja :

Family Ties: Son of reputed producer Harry Baweja. His mother Pammi is a producer too. He was also the fiance of Priyanka Chopra and at one point of time was set to marry her.

Debut film: Love Story 2050 (2008). Followed by Victory (2009) and then What’s Your Rashee (2009).

Critics’ evaluation: Does not have screen presence. His voice is very meek and very thin. Is a good dancer. His biggest drawback is that he looks like a Hrithik Roshan clone on screen.

Fate of Debut Film: Flop. Film didn’t last till the first week. The second film was a total washout and the third film lasted for the first week but mainly due to Priyanka Chopra who was basically the hero of the film.

Adhyayan Suman :

Family Ties: Son of reputed actor Shekhar Suman. He was also the fiance of Kangna Ranaut and at one point of time was set to marry her.

Debut film: Haal-E-Dil (2008). Then followed up by Raaz, The Mystery Continues… (2009). Followed up by Himmatwala (2013, Guest Role).

Critics’ evaluation: Is good with his acting but doesn’t have star power. His biggest drawback is that he doesn’t have any screen presence and is overwhelmed by his heroine.

Fate of Debut Film: Flop. Film didn’t last till the first week. The second film was better but was still a flop.

Ruslaan Mumtaz :

Family Ties: He is the son of Maharashtrian actress Anjana Mumtaz

Debut film: MP3 – Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar (2008). Then followed by Teree Sang (2009). Followed by Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai (2010), the followed by Dangerous Ishhq (2012, Guest Role). Then came I Don’t Love You (2013).

Critics’ evaluation: His biggest drawback is that he relies too much on his chocolaty looks and tries to be the romantic guy all the time. Any other sort of character doesn’t suit him.

Fate of Debut Film: Washout. Film didn’t last for even one day and collections showed an alarming drop right from the second day. All others were flops.

Sachiin Joshi :

Family Ties: He is the son of industrialist Jagdish Joshi. He is the husband of actress-model Urvashi Sharma.

Debut film: He started with three Telugu films. Then he made his Bollywood debut with Aazan (2011). Then came Mumbai Mirror (2013).

Critics’ evaluation: Too short for a hero. Thin voice. Bad looking as a hero and cannot dance.

Fate of Debut Film: Flop. Film lasted for one week because heavy money was spent in its promotions. Second film also met with the same fate.
