The year 2016 proved a point. And the point was: Biopics are the picks of the season. This is the year when the most number of biopics hit the marquee at the box office. Take a look at this list.

Dangal: The real-life story of the Phogat sisters who changed wrestling forever in India.

MS Dhoni: The story of Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Neerja: The real-life story of an air-hostess who saved the lives of hundreds from a terror hijack.

Aligarh: The story of a professor who was harassed and tormented because he was gay.

Sarbjit: The story of an Indian who crossed over to Pakistan in a drunken stupor and was arrested in Pakistan, never to be released back again.
