Dear Fawad Khan,
At the outset, let me clarify that I am not singling you out. I am merely addressing this letter to you because you are the most famous Pakistani import to Bollywood.
By addressing you, I want to talk to every Pakistani import to Bollywood. This letter could have well been addressed to Adnan Sami, Raahat Fateh Ali Khan, Mahira Khan… the list is endless and keeps increasing every year.
Fawad, I don’t think you can deny how much love we have showered on you over the past few years. We have given you more money in two years than what you could have possibly earned in Pakistan in 10 years. We have given you recognition that you would have never been able to earn sitting in Karachi. We made you act in great movies, we helped you endorse brands. And hey, we also made you a bigger star in Pakistan.
Though you are a supporting male lead in Bollywood movies, you are now a mega superstar in Pakistan.
We are proud of what we have done for you. We know that you have acknowledged it numerous times. You have spoken with gratefulness about the love and hospitality that we have shown to you. Though you keep mum about the money, you have earned here, we know that you are grateful to India for showering you with wealth too. Thank you for acknowledging that.
You are welcome.

I don’t know about others, I used to be very vocal about the fact that culture knows no boundaries and that there should be free exchange of artistes between India and Pakistan. Me and few of my friends supported and patronised the fact that India and Pakistan should collaborate for projects, specially when it comes to cinema. We recognise that cinema is one of the strongest forms of dialogue that can go a long way in forming public opinion across borders which will facilitate the peace process between the neighbours.
Not anymore.
Dear Fawad, whatever we have mentioned earlier is being done by us. India. Your country is doing just the opposite. We talk about dialogues but this is just becoming a monologue of peace from India.
We give you so much love and money, but your country continues to ban our cinema and our artistes.
We drool over you and give you some of our best projects. Your country dreams of creating a Bollywood on their own. We are thinking of collaboration while your country talks of division and isolation.
Our country knows that your country’s television serials are far better than us (in quality that is, we always had more money though) but your country’s government have prevented us from working with you there too.
Your country is mad about Bollywood movies but end up supporting piracy because most of the Bollywood movies are illegally downloaded in Pakistan. Bollywood movie piracy has only grown in Pakistan over the years.
All this never really mattered to us in the past. As I said earlier, we were only concerned about a free and fair cultural exchange no matter what is happening at our borders or how violence is being incited in Kashmir by your government backed Jihadi groups.
The water is flowing over our heads now, Fawad.
We have watched in pain how you have chosen to look away when your country is inflicting pain on us. We are letting you laugh all the way to your bank account in Karachi while our soldiers are bleeding in Uri, Kashmir.
You have chosen to keep quiet about us, our suffering and our death in the hands of your Mujahideen army. While we have given you only love, you have given us silence and that cute, dimpled smile of yours.
Sorry Fawad, cultural exchanges cannot happen over dead bodies of our soldiers. We cannot shake hands with your country when their hands are covered in blood of our own countrymen.
We know that you have a lot of support from Indians who would pamper you in isolation. We don’t blame them as they have invested money on you and wouldn’t want to lose it.

Fawad, you lack courage. You lack conviction. You lack the guts to stand up against the Jihadists of your country who think they are serving God by killing us.
Finish what you are doing Fawad and then do us a favour by going back to Pakistan. You see, what you have earned here is enough to last a lifetime. Go when the time is good and don’t wait for people to boycott you. Don’t wait for movies to crash at the box office because you are there in it.
Let’s part as friends, Fawad. It doesn’t matter if you have failed to respond to the favours we have done to you and your colleagues from Pakistan.
We wish you all the best and pray that someday you will have the courage to rise above boundaries and speak for what is right. We wish that someday you will stand with us because you earned your bread on our soil.
Take care and let us know when you are getting your air tickets to Karachi done. We plan to give you a grand farewell.
With deep regards,
Your ardent Indian fan.

How is he or any other innocent person responsible for the events you are referring to. Address your article to the people responsible for terrorism if you truly care.

It isn’t about who’s responsible, it’s about keeping mum. when you earn money and fame in India and your very own country Pakistan continuosly terrorising India which is feeding you and when you can be the influence and the first stand being a celebrity in both country ,why wouldn’t you raise your voice ….. I have no problem with Pakistan and Pakistanis but If they think we are idiots and will spare them each n every time then they don’t know that there gonna doomed bcos if we can help them putting roof on their heads after partition we also can destroy it now …

We are idiots my friend. Think and tell me otherwise how a Pakistani can act in an Indian movie. You should directly tell this to Manish and Karen johar in the industry who is encouraging Pakistanis in Billy wood movies.

That’s kind of absurd. Firstly, as of now the Pakistani involvement hasn’t been proved. Secondly, if and when it is proved, it is going to be on a mujahideen group like Jaish-e-Mohammad. Al Quida, Jaish-e-Mohammad are all banned in Pakistan by the Government. How can he take responsibility on behalf of a group that is banned?
Also agreeing with Nikhil here, Fawad on any regular Pakistani hasn’t got to do anything with this attack and we like everyone else condemn it. If anything, you should question the lack of countering terrorism by your BSF. How did they allegedly allow 6 rouge ‘fidaeen’ to cross the LOC and attack an airbase?
There are always going to be people on both sides of border who will always try the mischievous way. It is every sane persons duty to not let it obstruct the peace process.
Hope it makes sense to you.
About Fawad, its all business, write an open letter to your film industry and ask them not to sign Fawad, Also ask your government to stop giving him visas. He does pay taxes on everything he makes in India, so those big bucks you are talking about and doing you a favor if anything.
If you get the directors and government to do this, Fawad would have no reason to be in India in the first place. To sum it up, please put your own house in order before asking others to march.

Looks like a comment has already been made so that youncan understand that he pays taxes in india which he contributes to the indian nation building ehich in turn helps your standard of living and the roads you travel on
Wait a secind by this time you mightnbe thinking that you travel on roads with potholes
So where is his tax and your tax going?
Well you gotta ask Sir Narendra Modi ji, and if you gonna ask him on twitter kindly also ask him that in his last appearance on aap ki adaalat he said that pakistan ko unhi ki bhasha may jawab dena chahiye, kindly remind him of his tweets and his words
Looks like he turns a blind eye to it and to the promises he made to you and to the people of india
Did he even pro ise the people of India to bring back black money from swiss banks; lolz
Please give yourself a break, take a deep breath and think what he has done for the common man of india
All he does is changes in corporate law to help business men like ambani and adani and the profits these business men make is never passed on to the society and not even to the employees of these organisations
Corruption is deep rooted in india tha a recent tweet by kapil sharma led himto trouble with regard to corruption in municipal corporation of mumbai
The ministers in maharashtra not only files FIR against him but also asked hime to name the person who asked the bribe
They gotta be kidding
They cant find the person in their own corporation who takes care of that locality, obviously he would be the person behind it
Guess Sir Narendra Modi didn’t understand that simple logic which any 5th grader would understand, probably because….. Lets not go down there right now
#URI attack is condemned by all humans around the globe
Innocent lives were lost
Well the person who blogged this article or post; i wonder whether he analysed how the armed gunmen were able to get into a military base, pathankot air base, taj hotel in mumbai, well its sited in most of the newpapers published in india and outside india because and only because there was an inside hand in all of them so that public could divert attention from whats going on in reality
These insuders were somewhat successful during taj attack by killing Martyr Sir Hemant Karkare
What Mrs. Karkare told in her interview and in the book she wrote as well as in another book written by someone else “who killed hemant karkare”
Her answer was that the people what didnt want sadhvi (sangh) to get caught in the blast case since hemant was about to get a confession from sadhvi or was about to prove it in court
Do your math intelligent people of india and realise why was Martyr Hemant Karkare sir killed
Stop falling prey to what the media says
When the investigation in pathankot blast case was leading to the same roots the investigation was cooled and was tried to be diverted
When two scholars narendra dabholkar from a city in maharashtra pune and m m kalburgi from a city in southern india dharwad tried to reveal the black secrets of the same roots they were gunned down by the same roots, and investigation is going nowhere
These twi were named by newspapers
There could be many if googled
After the sad uri attck i heard a person on times now i.e. Anchor arnab saying “no one should ask modi anything at thisp point” he got to be kidding
Only thing missing while he said it was a dharma production movie sad song(kabhi khushi kabhi gum)
Its amazing to see how he change the colour when the govt at centre was changed
Wonder why he never focused of the happenings in kashmir
The pellet guns have destroyed more that 300+ eyes of youth in kashmir, children have stopped education and women and dalits in haryana being raped and murdered for suspected eating of meet, nuns being raped for praying in churches. Seems that not a news of concern for him and may be may be may be the writer of if this post above too least cared about
Well this is my perception or my perogative which i felt like sharing, kinda sharing my view
All i want to say in the end is media will only show what the head of channel or editor in chief of a newspaper wants to show.

First of all its understandable that our blood is boiling due to the shameful Uri Attack. Even I am unhappy with the loss of out troops. It is irresponsible to tarnish an actor’s career. It is better to give our force the go ahead and start performing cross border activities and eliminate the terrorists or use drones. But, it is important that civilians are not targeted. Fawad is civilian and unless you can show any evidence in terror activities no point in blaming him.
But, I understand the pain, and the solution is to perform cross border attacks either directly or indirectly. Eliminate the terror heads asap.

i know for a fact he was a superstar in Pakistan well before he started working in India, he already had his breakthrough, there is a misconception that Pakistani stars don’t get paid enough in Pakistan, they mint money(know from personal experience) not as much as the Bollywood stars but more than a common man like myself or you can think of, the 80’s are well behind us when Pakistani actors did not make any money at home.
Bollywood hired him because they could sell him and make money by doing so in India. No one did anyone any favor, that was purely business, they will continue to hire him as long as they can make money off him, its not your decision or mine or this journalists.
The rest of this bs of associating normal innocent people like Fawad in this case with terrorists and militants is just an attempt to play at peoples emotions and give a failed journalism career some traction. It makes me sad to see the Indian sentiment. It confirms the apprehensions Pakistanis feel about Indians, of how your niceness, your friendship is only skin deep. Should it be tested, this is how you react. Very much like the Egyptian who refused to shake hands with someone his politicians disagreed with at the Olympics. Here is a Pakistani’s response: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1174917152551865&id=126549850721939

How do you think any citizen of Pakistan will feel when they badmouth their own country for something that is not proven without a doubt. Unfortunately, we are born as citizens of a country. Some may immigrate to another country but any regular person loves his or her country even though it may be in a bad state. Anyway, it is a huge responsibility on him to go and denounce his own government. Can you imagine what will happen to him? I won’t lie and offer my empathy because I can only imagine what they must be going through but You and I, and the whole of my nation would fail as a basic human, and fail as a 5000 year old civilisation that we take pride in, if you associate this artist (actor) with this Uri attack for I know, he is merely an entertainer. These are the tough times that we need to stay strong and together, and let our leaders take decisions upon it. Now you might be a writer for this page and writing might be your passion or livelihood but I request you to use your gift to come up with other articles that are inspiring. The article is absolutely ridiculous. The man has earned his own fame and recognition. No audience goes doing favours to the people it supports. And it’s ridiculously narcissistic to suppose that we are doing anyone a favour by making them stars. I haven’t watched either of his major films yet and I still feel this article is downright ridiculous. We go there because we feel the need for entertainment. For escape. For hope. And we either get it or we don’t. If we get it we stupidly fall in love with the face we see on screen even though we know it’s fiction. And then we want to aggregate all that false sense of entitlement and write an open letter to the same star. Wow! The man happens to be Pakistani. If we only just stuck to watching movies and giving due credit to everyone involved in those films instead of being silly enough to go Gaga over just the faces on that screen, superstardom wouldn’t happen. But it’s just human nature clearly. And we can’t help it. We can’t be responsible for our own core human nature. And this guy is supposed to be held responsible for his country?

I am an artist myself, and I completely agree – Art has no boundaries. It strives to enhance human experiences, relationships and perspective on life. As Indians, we have always prided in ourselves in being kind and gracious to our guests.
But if you don’t read this superficially and dig deeper into it’s effects on the larger picture, this is not an issue of Art or Culture at all. I agree with the author; we have extended our hand to Pakistani artists for years, but the favour has not been returned. Pakistan has never supported Indian talent of any sort, be in singers, musicians, actors or artists. Meanwhile, they continue to fund terrorist organizations and spill Indian blood in the name of patriotism and religion. We need to stop looking at this so objectively. We have given this relationship YEARS to heal and build, but it’s resulted in nothing but setbacks for India.
Supporting Pakistani talent like Fawad means supporting their country – a country which has been trying to destroy us since the Kargil war in ’98. All the summits and bilateral talks so far have obviously been proven to be useless after the repeated terror attacks. And here we talk of supporting talent and ‘being the bigger man’.
